Dag 16, The Border Mill
21 juni 2019 - Eyemouth, Verenigd Koninkrijk
Hallo Allemaal,
😂. “Holly, thanks for the tour. We loved it” 😊!
Groetjes en liefs,
Peter en Irene

Hi everybody,
This morning we drove from Rothesay on Bute to The Border Mill, Duns.
The ferry from Bute to Wemyss was only half an hour.
On the road we had some coffee in the sun and then we went on to Duns.
We were welcomed by Holly with coffee and the woven stole / bedspread / cloth that Juliet made with the North Coast tweed 4ply.
In real life it is even more beautiful than on photos. Holly has given us an extensive tour through the mill, very interesting.
What beautiful products and what a s***load of work to get to such beautiful cones, skeins and balls of yarn... And then it still has to be knitted or woven.
“Holly, thanks for the tour. We loved it” ! 😊.
It was really great fun and (surprisingly) I bought some wool again: Alpaca Tweed Silk❤️. I'm curious how this knits up. It feels amazing.
And now... Drum roll... The NC500 scarf is finished!!
Today, in the car I have closed the top and bottom (grafted them, for those who want to know).
It weighs 350 grams and its name is... He doesn’t have one 🤔🤪.
I need to wash and block it at home. Then it will be truly finished.
Tomorrow we are going to Hull. And then on the ferry so we will be back home on Sunday morning.
If we come across more nice stuff ‘en route’ we will post something and if not, well then this was it.
We really loved this roadtrip, so maybe we will come up with another one in the future. Who knows? 😊
Tonight: groceries. We have to bring: Ginger beer, custard, Haggis, Bold detergent (lavender), cheese, crackers...
Tomorrow, on our way to Hull lunch with Claire and Stephane! 😄👍❤️
Love,
Peter and Irene
Goede thuis reis!!
Goede terugreis gewenst!
Goede reis naar huis!
leuk om jullie te volgen, goede reis!!
